Agent for Microsoft Exchange Server
The following issues relating to the Agent for Microsoft Exchange Server are known to exist in this release:
- The Agent does not support recovering database level backups of older versions of Microsoft Exchange Server (For example, Exchange Server 2010) to Exchange Server 2013 databases.
- When you select Microsoft Exchange Server directory as the backup source and perform file system backup with the client Agent, please note the following:
- If the Exchange Information Store is running, the Exchange Server files will be skipped during the backup.
- If the Exchange Information Store is NOT running, the Exchange Server files will NOT be skipped during the backup.
- A new registry key needs to be created for Arcserve Backup to control how the Agent for Microsoft Exchange Server backs up mailbox databases using multistreaming/multiplexing.
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\Arcserve Backup\Base\Task\Backup\SingleStreamExchangeAgent
- Values:
- 1 means Exchange mailboxes are backed up in a single stream
- 0 (or not set) means the behavior is unchanged (separate streams are used)
- When using Arcserve Exchange Granular Restore Utility, all the items are not getting restored to the live Server.
- Symptom
- After a restore job, the following item properties may not be properly restored:
- InternetHeaders
- RTFCompressed
- Codepage
- DateCompleted
- TaskRecurrence
- RecurrencePattern
- AppointmentTimeZoneDefinitionEndDisplay
- ReminderTime
- CommonEnd
- AppointmentStartWhole
- AppointmentEndWhole
- BusyStatus
- Meeting Owner
- Company Name of Task
- Solution
- Use Export to PST option to restore the missing items.
- When you search an email and restore the email from the search result, the email fails to restore to the mailbox. If you browse the mailbox and then select an email for restore, the email successfully restores.
- Fails to connect to the Exchange Server mailbox when the Attach to live Exchange mailbox option is used in Arcserve Exchange Granular Restore Utility from a remote machine (workgroup or same Domain).
- Symptom
- When you click the Attach to live Exchange mailbox option from a remote machine to connect to the Exchange server mailbox, the following error occurs:
- An unexpected error occurred on a send.
- Solution
- As a workaround, to connect to the Exchange server mailbox, follow these steps:
- Update the SystemDefaultTlsVersions registry key for TLS on both the Exchange Server and Remote Server where the Arcserve Exchange Granular Restore Utility is installed.
- For more information about registry Key, see Configuring security via the Windows Registry.
- Reboot the system.
- Click the Attach to live Exchange mailbox option in Arcserve Exchange Granular Restore Utility from a remote machine.
- The Connect to Exchange Server mailbox dialog appears.
- On the Connect to Exchange Server mailbox dialog, provide the information as needed, and then click Connect.
- The Exchange Server gets connected and a mailbox is populated.
