Using the SMTP Option

Follow these steps:

1. Highlight the SMTP leaf object to display the current SMTP settings on the right side.
2. Click on the Edit Item or New Item toolbar button (or use the right-click menu) to edit/configure the SMTP recipient.
3. Enter the following information in the SMTP Settings dialog:

5. Sender Address
6. Specify the email address to receive the Arcserve Backup alerts.
7. Subject
8. Specify subject as required.
9. SMTP Server
10. Specify the SMTP server details.
11. Port
12. Specify the following port number based on your requirement:
• None: 25 (default)
• SSL: 465 (default)
• TLS: 587 (default)
13. Note: Each SMTP server has different port numbers. The port number may vary based on the SMTP server configuration.
14. Requires Authentication:
15. Specify the user name and password of the email address provided.
4. Click OK to save your information.
