General Guidelines Oracle 11g

The following are general guidelines for backup and restore operations involving Oracle 11g databases:

• Oracle 11g databases backed up using VSS must be restored using VSS and the Oracle Server Writer.
• Oracle VSS Writer supports backup in both ARCHIVELOG mode and NOARCHIVELOG mode.

• Note: To use the NOARCHIVELOG mode, the database must be in a consistent state. For more information, refer to Oracle documentation.
