Check or Change the Microsoft SQL Server Authentication Method

You can check or change the Microsoft SQL Server authentication method using Arcserve Backup.

To check or change the Microsoft SQL Server authentication method

  1. On the system where Microsoft SQL Server is running, open the SQL Server Enterprise Manager.
  2. In the Tree pane, expand the entries below Console Root until you reach the database server.
  3. Right-click the server name, and select Properties from the drop-down list.
  4. The Properties dialog opens.
  5. In the Properties dialog, click the Security tab.
  6. Under Authentication, select one of the following options:

    7. Microsoft SQL Server and Windows

    Enables Microsoft SQL server-based authentication.

    Windows Only

    Enables only Windows user names and passwords.

  7. Click OK.
  8. The user authentication process is now set.
