Media Home Slot Changes

Valid on Windows platforms.

Symptom

The home slot for the media changed.

Solution

To remedy this problem, consider the following:

• A media is in a library media drive, and another media is placed in the first media’s home slot.
• Be careful not to insert media into the home slot of another media. When Arcserve Backup detects that the home slot of a media is occupied by another media, it moves the media to the first available non-cleaning slot.
• A media is in a library drive and LIBRARY.CFG file was deleted or overwritten.
• LIBRARY.CFG contains information about a media’s home slot, so that if, a media is in a library drive at startup, it is returned to the proper home slot.
