Error E9004
Module
Arcserve Backup Server
Reason:
This could be because of the following reasons:
- The agent may not be running.
- The Arcserve Backup Server may not be able to communicate with the agent.
- The agent may have been configured to run with a different port number, but the Arcserve Backup Server has not been made aware of the new number.
Action:
Try the following actions to resolve the problem:
- Verify that the agent is running.
- Verify that there are no network problems between the Arcserve Backup Server and the agent. This can be tested by using the Windows ping command.
Note: If the agent is outside of a firewall, make sure to open the ports. The default ports are 6050 and 6051, for both TCP and UDP (for a file system and UNIX database agents).
- If the agent has been configured to run with a different port number, make sure to update the Arcserve Backup Server with that information. For Arcserve Backup for UNIX, update the port.cfg file, which is located in the $BAB_HOME/config directory.
If the problem persists, contact Arcserve support for online technical assistance and a complete list of locations, primary service hours, and telephone numbers.
