Reason:
Arcserve Backup failed to erase a WORM capable media which is not currently WORM, because of an internal error or an error described by the Tape Engine.
Action:
To resolve this error:
- Check the error code.
- Check that the media is not write-protected.
- Check that the media has no media error. If so, check the media errors Help topic.
- Check the integrity of the device connections.
- Ensure the following log files are available from the Arcserve Backup installation path \LOG directory:
- TAPE.LOG
- ARCserve.log
Note: The ARCserve.log is not generated automatically. To create the ARCserve.log, you need to run the following script: “ca_log –view Activity.log > ARCserve.log” to dump the contents of the Activity.log into this newly-created ARCserve.log file.
