Reason:
A Restore, Scan, or Compare job tried to access the multiplexing metadata from the Arcserve Backup database, but the extraction of the metadata failed. The extraction might have failed because of one of the following conditions:
- The database containing the multiplexing metadata no longer exists or cannot be reached.
- The multiplexing metadata was purged from the database.
- The multiplexing metadata is corrupt.
- An internal Arcserve Backup error occurred.
Although the multiplexing metadata was not found in the database, the job can succeed if it finds the metadata on the tape.
Action:
Check the Activity Log for Warning W6679. This error message indicates that the job will attempt to extract the metadata from the tape. Confirm that the database exists and is reachable, modify the job as appropriate, and resubmit. Ensure that the Activity Log and the Tape log are available.
