Reason:

The backup/restore component failed.

Action:

Check the failure message.

If you receive an AE9972 Object <Component Name> failed error in event OnRestore, perform the following tasks:

1. Start the SPAdmin Windows Service, displayed as Windows SharePoint Services Administration.
2. Go to the SharePoint 3.0 Central Administration website and select Operations, Topology and Services, Services on Server.
3. Choose the agent machine server and select the Custom radio box.
4. Click Central Administration.
5. Click Start.
6. Run the job that previously failed, again.
