Enterprise Option for VSS Hardware Snap
Reason:
One of the following hardware shadow copy script commands failed on the backup server:
- mount
- umount
- split
- resync
Action:
Perform one of the following procedures:
If the command mount failed, perform the following procedure:
- Check the script in the file “hsssql.ini” in the Hardware Snap-shot SQL Agent home directory on the backup server.
- Check that the drive letter or mount point is not used by another volume.
- Check that the volume is not mounted as another drive letter or mount point.
- Verify the mount command using the disk array control tools.
If the command umount failed, perform the following procedure:
- Check the script in the file “hsssql.ini” in the Hardware Snap-shot SQL Agent home directory on the backup server.
- Please identify and close all other applications which may be accessing this volume or mount point, including Windows Explorer and open folder windows, antivirus real-time scanners, and Command Prompts. Verify that all desktop sessions except the session from which the backup is being managed are logged out, and that the drive or mount point being unmounted is not being accessed remotely through file sharing.
- Verify the umount command using the disk array control tools.
If the command split failed, perform the following procedure:
- Check the script in the file “hsssql.ini” in the Hardware Snap-shot SQL Agent home directory on the backup server.
- Check that the pairs are properly created using the disk array control tools.
- Verify the split command using the disk array control tools.
If the command resync failed, perform the following procedure:
- Check the script in the file “hsssql.ini” in the Hardware Snap-shot SQL Agent home directory on the backup server.
- Check that the pairs are properly created using the disk array control tools.
- Verify the resync command using the disk array control tools.
