Action:
The response to this message is dependent upon the type of error that was encountered.
- If the error message indicates that permission has been denied, check the permissions on the Enterprise Option for Advantage Ingres installation directory and the files it contains, along with the installation directory’s parent directories. These should all be accessible by the root user.
- If the error message indicates that the maximum number of open file descriptors has been reached, then it may be that the Enterprise Option for Advantage Ingres is not behaving properly. Retry the job perhaps in a more simplified form.
- If the error message indicates that the filename is too long, check the Enterprise Option for Advantage Ingres installation directory. A maximum of 1,000 characters can be used in a file name. You may need to reinstall the Enterprise Option for Advantage Ingres closer to the root directory.
- If the error message indicates that the maximum allowable number of files were open on the system, you may need to reconfigure your system to allow more files to be open concurrently or run your jobs when the system is less active.
- If the error message indicates insufficient storage space is available, then your system’s memory may be exhausted. Check the status of your system’s swap space and the number of running processes.
- If your system is too busy, you may need to reschedule tasks to more adequately spread the load throughout the day.
- If one or more processes are consuming too much memory, it could be that they are not functioning properly and may need to be terminated.
