Backup Guidelines for the Client Agent for Windows

In order to back up or restore a machine using Arcserve Backup and the Client Agent for Windows, you must:

• Make sure that the Client Agent software is properly installed and started on the Windows machine.
• Add the client to the machine tree in the Backup Manager. If the computer was added to the Preferred Shares/Machines or Network folder in the tree, right-click the computer or share and select Use Agent from the pop-up menu.
• Provide the username and password at the node level.
• Back up or restore the machine following the standard backup procedures.
