Arcserve Backup has special options available to backup databases, such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL, Exchange, and Lotus Domino.
If you have backed up one or more of these databases using Arcserve Backup, it cannot be restored using the Disaster Recovery option.
When Arcserve Backup backs up a database, a special tape session is created, apart from the rest of the backup. This database session is not a full backup, and therefore cannot be seen in the Disaster Recovery session list. However, you can restore the rest of the server using the Disaster Recovery option, and then start Arcserve Backup and begin a normal database recovery procedure.
