Disaster Recovery - Start the Recovery Process

Start the disaster recovery process as follows:

  1. After making all necessary partition selections and modifications, click Next.

The Disaster Recovery Wizard is now ready to begin recovery for each partition to which you assigned a backup session.

  2. To start the recovery process, click Start Disaster Recovery.

The Disaster Recovery Wizard copies the data from the specified sessions to the specified partitions.

Note: You can stop the recovery by clicking Cancel. However, we strongly recommend you complete the recovery, otherwise the results are unpredictable. Also, in some circumstances you may be asked to reboot the server at this point. The recovery process then picks up where it left off when the machine restarts.

A progress bar shows the progress of the restore process. Upon completion of the restore, your machine will reboot and return to the exact condition it was in at the time the backup media was created.

Note: A directory named DRBOOT.TMP is created during the restore process. After successfully restoring, this directory may be deleted.
