Library - Device Management Functions

Using the Arcserve Backup Device Manager, you can perform the following functions:

• Format Slot Range
• Erase Slot Range (Both Quick and Long)
• Eject media from a library drive and return it to its home slot for removal
• Inventory Slots
• Mount Magazine
• Dismount Magazine
• Clean Library Drive (for Tape Library Option only)
• Import/Export
• Configuring Library Groups

Note: These functions are library-specific, and are enabled after the Library Option is installed. The Library Option is slot based, not device based. When you insert media into a magazine slot or remove media from a slot, you must either inventory this slot or remount the magazine. Always insert media into slots, never into library drives.
