Arcserve Backup supports the following miscellaneous features and functions:
Detailed report generator-With the detailed report functions, the administrator can view/print Arcserve Backup job histories and activities. The detail report includes the source and destination targets and media statistics, such as sequence and session number. You can also specify the level of detail in the log by choosing the Log options before you submit the job. Arcserve Backup provides several options to help you create and maintain your reports to your own specifications.
User-defined scripts-Reusable scripts can be configured to run specific Arcserve Backup tasks.
Pre/Post commands based upon job status- Arcserve Backup contains conditional pre-execution, job execution and post-execution based on previous results (exit codes). Pre/post execution not only is supported for before/after job execution but also before/after execution on machines. Now you can select to run or not to run a command if a job fails, is completed, or incomplete. For instance, you may or may not want to run a detailed report on a job if it fails.
CAbatch utility-The CAbatch job utility allows you to submit and delete jobs in local or remote Arcserve Backup job queues from the Command Prompt (Console mode). You can also use the CAbatch Utility to modify the execution times of jobs in these queues. You can use a job script created in the Arcserve Backup manager or in a text file using the CAbatch Job Information Template in the template.txt file located in the Arcserve Backup home directory.
