Windows allows for the creation of volume sets and stripe sets.
Type |
Description |
---|---|
Volume set |
A volume set is created by combining space on a physical drive or drives into a logical volume. The logical volume is treated like a single partition: that is, it appears as one drive letter. |
Stripe set |
A stripe set is similar to a volume set, but each partition is of a similar size to allow data to be written in stripes across each partition. Stripe sets require at least two physical drives. |
For more information about volume sets and stripe sets, see the Windows documentation.
