Change the GFS Wait Time

When you submit a GFS backup job and are utilizing Media Maximization, you may encounter a situation where a media is busy because it is being used by another GFS job. By default, Arcserve Backup waits 10 minutes for the media to become available. If the media is still busy after 10 minutes, the job will use another tape.

You can change the wait time by entering a new value for the Windows registry key "GFSwaittime". This registry key is located in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Computer Associates\Arcserve Backup\Base\Task\Backup
