Enterprise Option for OpenVMS - Trace Levels

Occasionally, based on instructions from Arcserve, you may need to change the level of activity that is logged for the OpenVMS Enterprise Option. Because tracing levels can affect backup performance, do not change the values unless you receive specific instructions from Arcserve.

The following table shows all of the Open VMS client agent trace levels:

Level

Description

ASO$TRACE

This controls the trace depth of the client agent. Valid values are -1 and 0 to 0xFFFFFFFF. Setting the ASO$TRACE value to -1 logs the most detail.

ASO$TRACE_AST

This is a toggle. If defined, Asynchronous System Traps (ASTs) are traced.

ASO$TRACE_IDENT

This is a formatting parameter. The recommended value is between 0 and 5. The default is 3.

ASO$TRACE_DATA

This controls the number of bytes in each packet that is logged. The range is unlimited and starts at 0. The default is 300.
