Generate a Sample Report

To generate a report that lists the backup history of a particular node or host, perform the following procedure:

  1. Include information about the host name and tapes:
    1. From the Available Queries table, select Session.
    2. From the Available Columns table, select Source Host (the host name) and click Add. Do the same for Source Path (session path) and Start Time (backup date).
    3. Select Tape from the Available Queries table.
    4. From the Available Columns table, select Tape Name and click Add. Do the same for Serial Number, Location Status, and Tape Location.
    5. Click Next.
  2. Filter the report data by adding criteria to the report fields:
    1. Select Session.Source Host from the Report Columns table.
    2. Confirm the default setting from the Operator drop-down menu is "=" (equal to).
    3. Enter the host (server) name in the Enter Value text box.

    Note: When entering a host name in the Enter Value field, make sure to prefix the host name with two backslash characters. For example:  \\machine_name

  3. Click Add Criteria.
  4. Click Generate Report to generate the report now.

    To generate the report later, save the report template (from the File menu, select Save), then use the Job Scheduler Wizard utility found in the Arcserve Backup home directory to schedule this report.
