Creating Objects and View
To integrate with World View, you must run the Object Creation program. The Object Creation program discovers Arcserve Backup servers on the network and creates Arcserve Backup objects in the Unicenter TNG/TND repository. It creates these objects under each Arcserve Backup server's Unispace. The Object Creation program also creates a business process view called "Arcserve Backup View," which represents a view of all Arcserve Backup objects.
Note: Run the Unicenter Auto Discovery program prior to running the Object Creation program. If any new servers have been installed or the repository was rebuilt, Unicenter Auto Discovery discovers machines, and synchronizes Arcserve Backup servers on the network and objects in the repository. However, the discovery program is unable to discover Arcserve Backup UNIX on subnets not containing any Windows Systems machines. To discover these machines, you must specify the subnet containing the Arcserve Backup UNIX machines you want to discover. To do this, use the DSCONFIG.EXE utility located in the following directory:
C:\Program Files\CA\Sharedcomponents\ARCserve Backup
Once specified, click the Discover Now button to discover the Arcserve Backup Object Creation Utility.
