After Upgrading to Arcserve Backup r11, Can't Log on to the Manager Using My Old User Name

Problem:

I just upgraded to Arcserve Backup r11 and I can't log on to the Arcserve Backup Manager using my old user name.

Reason:

In Arcserve Backup r11, user names are not case sensitive. As a result, if you had multiple occurrences of a user name with different cases in your existing Arcserve Backup Version 9 installation, they will change when you upgrade.

Example: How Upgrading Affects User Names

If you had the user names caroot and CAROOT in your existing installation, these names will change to caroot and caroot01 after you upgrade to Arcserve Backup r11.

See the change_user_list.log, located in the \log directory of the Arcserve Backup home directory, to view the names that were affected by the upgrade. If no names were affected, this file will not appear.

After you upgrade, if you have old jobs in the queue and the user name that was used to schedule the jobs changed, these jobs will not be affected and will still run as scheduled.
