In addition to logon problems, you can solve many other problems by performing the following steps and sending the related logs and information (if applicable) back to Arcserve for further investigation.
Run the following commands, replacing MACHINE with the actual machine name:
Note: '>' to a file does not show the results on the screen.
Set up the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\Arcserve Backup\Base\LogARCserve\[DWORD]DebugLogs ==1. This would create the rpc.log file under the \logs directory of the Arcserve Backup home directory.
