Full Node Backup Jobs

Arcserve Backup provides the capability to backup all file systems and databases on a selected node. This feature can simplify backup job maintenance tasks.

For example, you can create a backup job for an entire node. You do not need to create individual jobs for the database files, directories, and drives on the node. Additionally, you can modify the configuration of a node without having to update previously configured backup jobs. You can also restore an entire node in the same manner as you would perform any other restore job.

Benefits of a Full Node Backup

The benefits of backing up an entire node are as follows:

Creating a Backup Job for an Entire Node

When backing up a node that includes database files, you must provide proper authentication to access the database when creating the backup job. Proper authentication includes the User Name and Password for the corresponding databases. You do not need to provide this authentication when the backup job runs.

To facilitate database authentication, Arcserve Backup displays the Security and Agent Information dialog when you are creating a backup job on an entire node. The Security and Agent Information dialog opens when you submit the job or when you save the job.
