This section describes the architecture of each tape library.
The options are separate software components installed on servers running CA ARCserve Backup. Several CA ARCserve Backup servers can share one tape library.
While the CA ARCserve Backup server logical library essentially partitions a large Enterprise Tape Library 3494 into independent, user-defined logical libraries, the CA ARCserve Backup server virtual library essentially partitions a large StorageTek ACSLS tape library into independent user-defined logical libraries.
