Take Inventory of Slots

To enable CA ARCserve Backup to recognize changes in tape volume assignments, you must take an inventory of slots in the tape library affected by tape volume assignment changes.

To take inventory of slots

1. Log on to CA ARCserve Backup on the computer running the option.
2. Start CA ARCserve Backup.
3. Select Device from the CA ARCserve Backup home page.
4. Select the logical library.
5. Right-click the selected logical library, and select Inventory/Offline Slots.

   The Inventory/Offline Slots dialog opens to show the tape volumes in the tape library.

6. Click to select the slots in the option affected by tape volume assignment changes.
7. Click Quick Inventory.
8. Click OK.

   The inventory complete message appears.

9. Click OK.
