Perform Disaster Recovery in Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005, or 2008 Cluster Environments

If a disaster occurs, you can recover your SQL database in a cluster environment.

To perform a disaster recovery in a Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005, or 2008 cluster environment

  1. Reinstall Microsoft SQL Server and re-create the Microsoft SQL Server virtual server.
  2. Reinstall the Agent for Microsoft SQL Server, if necessary.
  3. Restore the Microsoft SQL Server [master] database.
  4. Restart Microsoft SQL Server in normal, multi-user mode and restore the rest of the databases, beginning with msdb, and then model, ending with the distribution database for replication, if any.

Note: For more information about recovering from a disaster, see the Disaster Recovery Option Guide.
