Import and Export Media

Arcserve Backup allows you to import or export multiple media to and from your library slots.

Importing media into a library:

1. Select the library in the Device Management browser.
2. Click Import/Export.
3. Click Import to view all of the available empty slots in a library.
4. Select a mail slot (or mail slots) that have media you want to assign to your library.
5. Select the empty slot (or slots) where you want to assign the media and click Assign.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each media you want to import.
7. Choose one of the following Import options:
   • Quick Import--Imports the media information from the Arcserve Backup database.
   • Regular Import--Reads all of the media information from the media itself.
8. Click OK.

Exporting media from a library:

1. Select the library in the Device Management browser.
2. Click Import/Export.
3. Click Export to view all of the available empty slots in a library.
4. Select the mail slots in which you want to move media, click the slots that you want to remove media from, and click Remove.
5. Repeat this process for every media you want to export, then click OK.
