Right-click a volume in the Backup Manager and select Local Options to access the following options.
Options
Disable Snapshot--If Arcserve Backup Agent for Open Files is installed on the server and you want to disable open file backup on an NSS volume, select this option.
Verify Options
None--The backup is not verified.
Compare Tape to Disk--Data from the backup media is read and compared byte for byte against the source files. This option takes time but ensures that all data on the backup media are exactly as on the disk. If Arcserve Backup finds a mismatch, the errors are recorded in the Activity Log.
Scan Tape Contents--The proprietary Arcserve Backup data area (the header) of each file on the backup media is checked. If it is readable, Arcserve Backup assumes the data is reliable. If it is not readable, the Activity Log is updated with this information. This is the fastest verification method.
Compare Initial (MB)--The specified amount of data from the backup media is read and compared byte-for-byte against the source files. This option is less time consuming, and gives some assurance that the backup media is valid. If errors are found, Arcserve Backup will record them in the activity log.
Session Password--The backup job is encrypted with a session password to enhance network security. Use this option to assign a password for this volume (a separate backup session). Remember that if you use a password for a backup session, you must use the password when restoring that session from media.
