Create Exceptions for Individual Days

Designate Exceptions

You can define different backup criteria for days in your rotation on which you want to deviate from the standard scheme, such as a vacation day.

To designate exceptions, perform the following procedure:

1. From the Classic tab of the Quick Access Panel, select Backup.
2. On the Schedule tab of the Backup Manager, select Use Rotation Scheme and then the Exceptions tab.
   • Click Add to specify days on which you want to deviate from the standard GFS rotation scheme.
   • To change criteria in an exception, highlight the exception and then click Modify.
   • To remove an exception, highlight the exception and then click Remove to delete it.
3. Define the exception in the Exceptions dialog.
   • Backup Method - Select a backup method, full, incremental, or differential, or a day off.
   • Date - Toggle the date on which to run the job.
   • Time - Designate a new start time, then toggle the start time.

Remove Exceptions

As an alternative to selecting Remove Exceptions from the Calendar View, you can remove exceptions using the Exceptions dialog.

To remove exceptions, perform the following procedure:

1. In the Exceptions dialog, select the exception you want to remove.
2. Click Remove.

View Media Pool Information

To use the Media tab to view media pool information, perform the following procedure:

1. Select the Media tab at the bottom of the Use Rotation Scheme dialog.

   The Media Pool Information box appears.

2. Click the Daily, Weekly, or Monthly boxes to change the number of required media per year.
