Task
Reason:
In a merge job, when a session is being merged Arcserve Backup tries to set a mapping between the merged session and any available copy of this session in the system. Doing so helps keep track of copied sessions in the system. But while creating the mapping, the Database returned an error because of an internal error.
Action:
Check if the database engine is still running. Verify the server which hosts the Database is reachable and also verify that the Database services are running.
Ensure the following log files are available from the Arcserve Backup installation path \LOG directory:
Note: The ARCserve.log is not generated automatically. To create the ARCserve.log, you need to run the following script: “ca_log –view Activity.log > ARCserve.log” to dump the contents of the Activity.log into this newly-created ARCserve.log file.
