The following list provides a number of actions you can take if the error message you received may be due to a hardware problem:
Power the drive off, then turn it back on. Turning the drive off and on again may correct the problem.
Check the terminators on the SCSI bus. Are both ends of the SCSI bus properly terminated?
Check the cables. Do you have any loose connections?
Verify the controller board is properly seated. You may have to reseat the controller board.
Try a different media. See the Help topic media errors for information to help you determine if the media is causing the problem.
Call the storage device vendor.
Power down the entire machine and power back up. If the controller card was locked, only shutting off the computer completely can unlock it. Do not warm boot. You should perform this step if all other steps fail to correct the problem.
