Error AE0579

Failed to create Virtual Machine [VM Hostname] on ESX server [ESX Hostname]. For more information refer RecoverVM.log available in the log folder under the client agent installation directory.

Module

Agent for VMware, Client Agent for Windows

Reason:

Virtual Machine creation can fail due to multiple reasons:

  1. Another virtual machine in the same folder already has the specified target name.
  2. There is a problem creating the virtual machine on disk. There is not enough disk space to create the Virtual Machine.
  3. The Virtual Machine creation would violate a resource usage policy.
  4. If Host.capability.maxSupportedVMs is exceeded.
  5. The ESX server is not reacheable or the ESX server credentials may not be correct.
  6. The Datastore selected is not valid for the ESX server.
  7. The version of the virtual machine is not supported on the target ESX server.
  8. Backup for VM is submitted at vCenter level but Recover VM is submitted to the ESX server that is managed by the vCenter.

Action:

  1. Verify you have given the correct ESX server and that you have provided the right credentials.
  2. Verify you have given the correct Datastore name.
  3. Verify that the Datastore provided has enough space to hold the Virtual Machine.
  4. Ensure that you have not exceeded the Host.capability.maxSupportedVMs.
  5. Provide a target ESX server that is compatible with the current version of the virtual machine.
  6. Detach ESX host from the vCenter and run the job again or submit the recover VM job at the vCenter level.
