Creating Access and Secret Keys for Google Cloud Storage
The Access and Secret keys are called “Interoperable keys” or "migration keys". As Google Cloud Storage provides an S3 interface, you can use an S3 client, such as S3 Browser, or a CLI tool like s3cmd to work with Google Cloud Storage buckets as well.
This section provides instruction on how to create Access and Secret keys for Google Cloud Storage.
Follow these steps:
- Log into the Google Cloud Platform Console.
- Go to the Google Cloud Navigation menu > Cloud Storage > Settings.
-
- On the Settings page, click the INTEROPERABILITY tab.
-
- If you haven't enabled the interoperable access, click Interoperable Access.
- Under Access keys for your user account, click CREATE A KEY.
-
- The Access and Secret keys are generated and listed in the table.
- Notes:
- The generated Access and Secret keys do not belong to the Google project but your own account, which you are using to log into the Google Cloud Console.
- You can generate multiple Access and Secret keys.
