How to Configure the Standby VM Network

You can power on the Standby VM with customized network settings. You can configure the following network settings on the standby VM:

Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Protect > Disaster Recovery > Virtual Standby.
  2. On the Virtual Standby screen, from the Action drop-down list of a source, click Target VM Configuration.
  3. The Standby VM Network Configuration dialog appears.
  4. Under Network Adapter Settings tab, do the following:
    1. From the Standby VM - Virtual Network drop-down list, select the virtual network.
    2. From the Standby VM – NIC Type drop-down list, select the NIC type.
    3. Under Standby VM, to manually configure the TCP/IP settings, select the Manually configure the TCP/IP settings option.
    4. Click the Add button and then add the IP Address, Gateway Address, DNS Address, and WINS Address.
    5. Note: If you add DNS Address, then configure the DNS servers in the DNS Update Settings tab.
  5. Click Save.
  6. The Standby VM network is configured successfully.
