Prepare a Bare Metal Machine

Before you create a recovery scenario, prepare a bare metal machine on which you want to restore data. In this process, boot the machine with the Continuity Suite BMR CD to start the machine and launch the Continuity Suite engine. An IP address is assigned to the machine. Specify this IP address while creating the recovery scenario.

Follow these steps:

  1. Insert the Continuity Suite BMR CD and boot the computer.
  2. Select Arcserve Continuous Availability BMR to boot the system.
  3. Select the language of your choice and click Next.

    4. The Continuity Suite CD detects network adapters and disks on the bare metal machine.

  4. (Optional) If the Continuity Suite CD is unable to detect network adapters and disks, click appropriate links on the left panel to install them.

The Continuity Suite engine is launched and the machine is assigned an IP address.
