Activate Arcserve UDP After Installation
You can activate the Arcserve UDP either during installation or post installation. During installation, to skip activation, click the SKIP button in the Arcserve Product Activation pane. Post installation, to activate after logging in, you can simply click Help from the Console to access the Arcserve Product Activation option.
Optionally you can also participate in the Product Improvement Program.
Important! Arcserve does not collect any personal or business critical information, such as node name, IP address, login credentials, domain name, and network names.
This process of Arcserve Product activation is not applicable to Stand-alone Agent.
Notes:
- After the activation, you can assign or release a license. For more information, see Managing Arcserve UDP Licenses.
- To utilize the Arcserve Cyber Resilient Storage features in UDP Console UI, get the Arcserve license key, specific to Cyber Resilient Storage and UDP integration from Arcserve.
- If you add an entitlement for the Arcserve UDP product using license keys instead of activating it using the Order ID and Fulfillment Number, you cannot disable the Product Improvement Program (PIP) data sharing.
- When you use the Order ID and Fulfillment Number to activate the Arcserve UDP product, you can clear the checkbox to disable PIP data sharing.
- When you use license keys to add your entitlements, the option to disable PIP data sharing is not available.
Important! Adding the Cyber Resilient Storage license only enables the user interface (UI) options related to the feature. To perform actual backup jobs, you must also add the relevant backup license(s) that cover the data you intend to protect. The Cyber Resilient Storage license unlocks the storage functionality, while the backup license authorizes the data protection operations. Without the appropriate backup license, backup jobs will not be executed.
