Activating Online Activation leads to Offline Activation

For Arcserve UDP:

When activating Arcserve UDP license online, the offline activation window appears.

Symptom

If you are activating Arcserve UDP from the Console with internet connectivity, the offline activation window appears. This issue is due to the proxy enabled on the machine used for activation.

Solution

Note: This solution is only applicable to Arcserve UDP v6.5 Update 1. If you have previous version of Arcserve UDP, then apply P00000715 or UDPV6.5U1 patch to existing version of Arcserve UDP for the provided solution to work.

Before proceeding to activation, add the PROXY_HOSTNAME and PROXY_PORT_NUMBER parameters to EntitlementRegister_Windows.properties file available at the following location:

C:\Program Files\Arcserve\Unified Data Protection\Management\Configuration\

PROXY_HOSTNAME=<Customer Proxy Hostname>

PROXY_PORT_NUMBER=<Customer Proxy Port Number>

For Arcserve Backup:

When activating Arcserve Backup license online, the offline activation window appears.

Symptom

If you are activating Arcserve Backup from the Console with internet connectivity, the offline activation window appears. This issue is due to the proxy enabled on the machine used for activation.

Solution

Note: A test fix is available to resolve the issue. For more details, contact Arcserve Support.

Before proceeding to activation, add the PROXY_HOSTNAME and PROXY_PORT_NUMBER parameters to EntitlementRegister_Windows.properties file available at the following location:
