Activate Arcserve UDP License Offline

You can activate the Arcserve UDP even if you are not online. If your Arcserve product does not have access to internet, you are automatically redirected to the offline activation method.

The offline activation starts from Arcserve UDP Console, when you click Activate in the Product Activation tab of the Activation and Licensing dialog. Arcserve UDP detects that an offline activation method is required and helps you to complete the offline activation.

Important! To complete the offline activation process on one machine, you must have internet access on another machine.

Follow these steps:

  1. Log into Arcserve UDP Console.
  2. From the Console, click Help.
  3. Open Arcserve Product activation step 1
  4. Multiple options appear in the drop-down list.
  5. From the Help drop-down list of options, click Activation and Licensing.
  6. The Activation and Licensing dialog opens.

  8. From the Activation and Licensing dialog, enter the following details:

    9. Email Address

    Specify your email address.

    Note: The verification email is sent to this email address.

    Name

    Specify your name.

    Company

    Specify the name of your company.

    Phone Number

    Specify your phone number in the following format:

    Country code - Phone number. For example: 000-1122334455

    Order ID

    Specify your Order ID.

    Note: You receive Order ID through an email when you download Arcserve UDP.

    Fulfillment Number

    Specify the Fulfillment Number.

    Notes: You receive Fulfillment Number through an email when you download Arcserve UDP.

  9. Note: Optionally, you can also select the check box to participate in the Product Improvement Program.
  10. Important! Product licensing / activation does NOT take place until you select the check box of I agree to Arcserve's collecting machine specific data as part of the activation process.
  11. Click Activate.

    12. Activation and Licensing window opens.

  12. From the Product Activation tab, click Save.

    13. Important! To complete the offline activation process, you must follow the steps mentioned below.

    The offline.arc file is saved to the following location:

    C:\Program Files\Arcserve\Unified Data Protection\Management\Configuration

  13. Perform the following steps in the online machine:
    1. Copy the offline.arc file to a machine that has internet access and open the following URL in the same machine:

      2. https://www.arcserve-register.com/AERPEndUserPortal/index.html#/

      Arcserve License Portal opens.

    2. From the login page, click Activate/Deactivate in offline mode.

      3. The offline activation page opens.

    3. Now, drag and drop the saved offline.arc file to the offline activation page.
    4. Click Upload.

      5. The following pop-up message appears:

      Your product activation is almost complete. Follow the link in the email sent to the address below to complete your product activation.

      Note: Depending on the type of browser used, the position of the pop-up message on screen may change.

    5. Open the email address that you provided for activation.
    6. You can view the Arcserve Registration email.
    7. From the email, click the link for activation.
    8. The Arcserve registration page opens. You can see the Create a Password dialog with your email already entered.
    9. Note: To complete activation, from the link you need to create profile for Arcserve License Portal. To create profile, you need to enter a password and create one license pool.
    10. From Create a Password dialog, enter desired password and click Save.

      11. The Create License Pool dialog opens.

    11. Perform the following actions to create the license pool and click Save.

      12.  Important! If you do not create the license pool, your machine will not display the licenses.

      • Enter a name for your license pool.
      • Enter the quantity of licenses to include in the pool.
      • Note: You can add more licenses to the pool later, if required.

      Arcserve License Portal login page opens.

    12. Log into Arcserve License Portal using the same credentials used for registration.

      13. The Arcserve License Portal home page appears.

    13. From the Home page, click Offline Activation.

    14. Select the product name from the product list and click Download.

      15. An activation.arc file is downloaded to your machine.

    15. Navigate to activation.arc file and copy the file from the current machine to the following path in the offline machine:

      16. C:\Program Files\Arcserve\Unified Data Protection\Management\Configuration

  14. From the Arcserve UDP Console in the offline machine, open the Activation and Licensing window and click License Management.

    15. You can view the activated license for the offline machine.

    Note: Navigate to the messages tab and click Details in the Arcserve UDP Console for the subscription license end date. The expiry date is available from 60 days before expiry and 40 days after expiry.

You have activated the Arcserve UDP license using offline method successfully.
