How do I configure the IP Address if My Network Does Not Have a DHCP Server?

When a OneXafe is installed on a LAN without a DHCP server, it will be assigned an IPv6 link local IP address Simply connect a USB keyboard and monitor to the rear of OneXafe and the IP address will be in the screen print (no need to log in). This can also be done by accessing the IPMI or iDRAC console. (The screen shot is displaying a DHCP assigned IP address, but a 169.x.x.x IP address would be displayed where 172.19.32.132 is currently displayed.

Enter the default user name and password.

Then

#network

#list

If OneXafe is installed on a network without DHCP, there will be a self-assigned 169.x.x.x IP address that will be shown. Enter this address into the web browser to access the OneXafe Web Console. It will display information similar to what is shown below.

Copy
 oneblox50001(config) network oneblox50001(config-network) list
Name Family Method Address          Netmask          Gateway          Vlan Portgroup default

inet dhcp    172.19.32.132 255.255.255.0 172.19.32.1    0

oneblox50001(config-network)

Enter the IP address from the display in the browser URL bar. The OneXafe Web Console will appear. To complete the static IP and network configuration, click on the word “here” on the Web Console to login. The default user name/password is admin/config. Refer to “How do I change the OneXafe IP address with the Web Console?”.

Alternatively, you can go through the OneXafe registration process. During registration OneSystem will discover the OneXafe on the network. There will be an opportunity to select “OneXafe web console”. This will open a new tab with the OneXafe web console.

Once the IP address is identified, enter this address into the web browser to access the OneXafe Web Console. Proceed to configure one or more network profiles.
