VirtualBoot to Hyper-V
Important things to consider before installing and using the Arcserve VirtualBoot Hyper-V Plugin:
- The host must be Windows Server 2012 R2, Server 2016, Server 2019, Server 2022, or Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Enterprise, or Windows 11.
- Hyper-V must be installed and configured on the server.
- Arcserve strongly advises against running the host system on a domain controller.
Refer to the Microsoft Server 2012 documentation to configure and launch Hyper-V on Server 2012 R2 prior to installing the plugin.
Note: VirtualBooting to Hyper-V on Server 2012 R2 (with Active Directory installed) is not supported.
Refer to the Microsoft Server 2016/2019 documentation to configure and launch Hyper-V on Server 2016 or Server 2019 prior to installing the plugin.
*Refer to the Microsoft Windows 10 OS Requirements for Hyper-V. To use Windows 10 with Hyper-V you must be able to install and run the Hyper-V role.
