Migrate Data Stores from OneXafe
This section describes the essential steps and considerations for migrating data from OneXafe to Arcserve Cyber Resilient Storage. The migration process involves replicating data stores from OneXafe storage to Arcserve Cyber Resilient Storage.
Data migration from OneXafe is initiated through the UDP Console. If the OneXafe system (source) and Arcserve Cyber Resilient Storage (destination) are located in different networks, make sure that both the systems are connected to the internet and accessible from the UDP Console. Internet connectivity is not required if both the systems are within the same network, but they must be accessible from the UDP Console.
To preserve data integrity, security, accuracy, and system continuity, it is essential to perform the migration with careful planning and verification. A well-executed migration helps prevent data loss, corruption, and downtime.
Some of the things to keep in mind before and after the migration are:
- Understand the size, structure, and performance of your current data. Identify dependencies and any constraints that could affect the migration.
- Perform verification checks after the migration to confirm that all files are present, accessible, and functioning as expected. Typically, these checks could be record count/file count check, checksum/hash verification, data sampling/spot checks or any of the commonly used verification checks.
- Schedule migrations to avoid disrupting business operations.
- For large transfers, consider migrating during off-peak hours to reduce network impact.
