Detach a Data Store from the Console

If you no longer want to use a data store, you can detach the data store. When detached, the data store is removed from the Console. However, the detached data store exists in the recovery point server.

Notes:

• You can import the detached data store, when required.
• To detach a data store that is linked to plans, first delete the plan that is linked to the data store.

Follow these steps:

1. From the Console, click the resources tab.
2. From the left pane, navigate to Destinations, and click Recovery Point Servers.
3. The Destinations: Recovery Point Servers page displays the list of available recovery point servers.
3. Expand a recovery point server.
4. You can see the list of data stores associated with the recovery point server.
4. Perform one of the following actions:
• Right-click the data store name.
• Select the data store, and from the center pane click the Actions drop-down list.
5. A list of options is displayed.
5. Click Detach from RPS.
6. A Confirm dialog opens.
7. Note: If the data store is linked to a plan, instead of the Confirm dialog you get a Warning dialog.
6. Click Yes.
7. The data store is detached.
