How to Create an Assured Security - Malware Scan Plan
The Assured Security - Malware Scan allows you to scan the backup or replicated data in recovery points for any malware or malicious files. This feature also warns you about the malicious files in recovery points before restoring.
Notes:
- The Assured Security - Malware Scan is supported only for Windows nodes.
- When EFS is enabled on the backed up data on source node, and you are using the remote Assured Security proxy, the Assured Security job cannot detect the malicious content as the data encrypted with EFS cannot be decrypted into another machine.
- If the files or folders are password protected, the Assured Security job cannot detect the malicious content.
The plan for an Assured Security - Malware Scan is based on a backup or replication plan. This task lets you add an Assured Security - Malware Scan task to an existing backup or replication plan. The Assured Security - Malware Scan task includes a source, scan settings, schedule, and advanced settings. You can run the Assured Security - Malware Scan manually or according to the specified schedule.
You can run the Assured Security - Malware Scan for the following backup or replication plans:
- Backup, Agent-based Windows
- Backup, Host-Based Agentless
- Replicate from a remotely managed RPS
- Backup, Files on UNC or NFS Path
- Backup, Oracle Database.
