Disable Data Store Share
This section provides information about how to disable data store share.
Notes:
- When you install UDP 10.0 for the first time, the newly created data stores along with the network share get disabled, by default, thereby disabling the metadata folder that is not shared.
- The Disable Share option is available only when you upgrade from previous versions of UDP to 10.0.
- The shared folder on all the newly created data stores on UDP 10.0 RPS is disabled.
- The shared folder on all the newly created data stores on older versions of RPS is enabled.
- When upgrading from previous versions of UDP to 10.0, Arcserve recommends manually disabling the data store share. Consider this recommendation because the shared folders in all existing data stores are enabled by default to prevent failures of existing jobs.
- When you click Save after creating or modifying a plan and any of the nodes has a version lower than UDP 10.0, you are prompted to upgrade all source nodes or proxy nodes to UDP 10.0.
To disable data store share, follow these steps:
- On the UDP Console, click the resources tab.
- From the left pane, navigate to Destinations, and then click Recovery Point Servers.
- The Destinations: Recovery Point Servers page appears.
- Do one of the following:
- Right-click the recovery point server, and then click Disable Share.
- Select the recovery point server, click the Actions drop-down list, and then click Disable Share.
- The confirmation dialog appears.
- Click OK to confirm.
- A dialog appears and confirms that the share is disabled successfully.
- Click OK to close the dialog.
Note: If you are unable to disable share, upgrade all components of UDP to UDP 10.0, and then follow the above procedure.
