Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can I import the node from any server in the multi-node cluster? If yes, does the backup job run?
  2. Yes, you can import the nodes from any of the Cluster Virtual Machine (CVM) or Cluster Virtual IP. You can run the backup job successfully.
  3. Each host server can have one CVM and you can use only one CVM as leader at a time. All the requests that are sent to any server are served from leader CVM, so that there is no change occurs whether you import from the Cluster Virtual IP or Node CVM IP.
  4. Does Arcserve UDP support the fallback of Transport Mode for Nutanix AHV backups?
  5. No, the fallback of Transport Mode is not supported in Arcserve UDP. Only the option you selected in the plan is applied for transport mode. The backup job fails if the backup cannot run in the selected transport mode.
  6. How does license work for Nutanix AHV Backups?
  7. The Nutanix nodes run at cluster level and all the physical machines require license. For example: A Nutanix cluster has 5 physical nodes with 10 sockets on UDP. Out of the 10 sockets, two sockets are not licensed. Hence, the backup fails unless all 10 sockets are licensed.
