- Unable to run catalog-less file restore job for Windows 2019 Refs volume in Windows 2019 machine.
- After rebooting the server, the incremental backups are converted to verify backups.
- Symptom
- If NTFS deduplication is enabled on a volume, you may notice deduplication of the data files that UDP Windows Agent CBT driver uses. Also results, conversion of incremental backups to verify backups after server reboot because the CBT driver does not expect the deduplication of data files.
- Solution
- For Windows, add dat to the customer file extension to exclude field to the root folder of the deduplication enabled volume.
- Arcserve UDP Windows Agent CBT driver fails to detect the file system change on volumes.
- Symptom
- If the FAT32 / ReFS volume is formatted to NTFS, or vice versa, backup of this volume may not work properly.
- Solution
- As a workaround, take the volume offline using diskpart.exe and bring online. When a volume is brought online, the Arcserve UDP Windows Agent CBT driver can detect and monitor that volume properly.
- In Windows 2008 R2, when you create a socket on loopback interface, a socket leak problem occurs in Windows kernel.
- Symptom
- If the Windows Agent / RPS / Console is installed on Windows Server 2008 R2, the following error message appears:
- Failed to connect to Server, click OK to exit
- Solution
- As a workaround, refer the KB article and apply the patch accordingly.
- BitLocker-enabled volumes are not backed up.
- Symptom
- If you have BitLocker enabled volumes in locked status, then the backup job skips the specific volumes.
- Solution
- Unlock the BitLocker volumes and perform the backup again.
- Unable to run file and block level restore job for Refs volume.
- Symptom
- After performing an agent-based backup job, in restore job, the Refs volume leads to blue screen (BSOD).
- Solution
- For windows 2019 or windows 10 (1809), customer must apply latest windows update kb4505658.
For windows 10 (1903), when impacted by the BSOD, reboot the machine. As a workaround, restore the files from another machine. - Too many client connections suspend agent services from Agent monitor.
- Symptom
- The agent services gets stopped from Agent monitor; however, it displays as running from the services management console and the log record displays exceptions of too many client connections.
- This issue occurs because Windows has too many client connections. Sometimes, when the server has too many active client connections, the TCP ports may be insufficient. In that case the TCP ports are all used up and you cannot allot more to a new client connection request.
- Solution
- We can increase these ports by modifying the registry. In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters, add new entry of type DWord with the name as MaxUserPort and value as 65534. Reboot the machine for the changes to take effect.
Symptom
After take agent based backup job in Windows 2019, when mounting, the Refs volume leads to blue screen (BSOD).
Solution
For windows 2019 or windows 10 (1809) , customer should apply latest windows update kb4505658.
For windows 10 (1903), when impacted by the BSOD, reboot the machine. As a workaround, restore the file to alternate location on Windows Server 2019 or Windows 10 (1809) with the latest update - kb4505658.
