Review Prerequisites
Before you configure email alerts, consider the following prerequisites:
- You must install Microsoft .NET Framework (version 2.0 or higher) on the machine where you have installed the Console for the Report Chart export feature to export images in a report successfully.
- You must have UDP Console version above or equal to 9.0.
- You must create Gmail project as per specified settings to avail OAuth 2.0 authentication to connect with SMTP protocol and send emails for Gmail.
- You must create the Microsoft Entra ID application as per specified settings to avail OAuth 2.0 authentication to connect with SMTP protocol and send emails for Office 365.
- You must enable SMTP authentication for the mailbox to be used. You can enable (or disable) SMTP authentication for each mailbox in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- To enable SMTP authentication, follow these steps:
- Log into the Microsoft 365 admin center, and then navigate to Users > Active users.
- On the Active users page, select the user, and then click the Mail tab.
- Under Email apps, click Manage email apps.
- The Manage email apps dialog appears.
- Select the Authenticated SMTP check box.
- Click Save changes.
