Review Prerequisites

Before you configure email alerts, consider the following prerequisites:

• You must install Microsoft .NET Framework (version 2.0 or higher) on the machine where you have installed the Console for the Report Chart export feature to export images in a report successfully.
• You must have UDP Console version above or equal to 9.0.
• You must create Gmail project as per specified settings to avail OAuth 2.0 authentication to connect with SMTP protocol and send emails for Gmail.
• You must create the Microsoft Entra ID application as per specified settings to avail OAuth 2.0 authentication to connect with SMTP protocol and send emails for Office 365.
• You must enable SMTP authentication for the mailbox to be used. You can enable (or disable) SMTP authentication for each mailbox in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
• To enable SMTP authentication, follow these steps:
1. Log into the Microsoft 365 admin center, and then navigate to Users > Active users.
2. On the Active users page, select the user, and then click the Mail tab.
3. Under Email apps, click Manage email apps.
4. The Manage email apps dialog appears.
4. Select the Authenticated SMTP check box.
5. Click Save changes.
