Specify Volume without Drive Letter in Registry

You must specify the volume without drive letter in registry to protect the volume and contents in the mount point.

Follow these steps:

  1. From Windows Disk Manager, select new disk that does not have a drive letter assigned.
  2. From the right click options, click Properties.
  3. The disk properties window opens.
  4. From the Security tab, copy Object name.
  5. On the Windows Agent machine, navigate to the respective Agent Node and open Registry.
  6. The registry window opens.
  7. Navigate to the below path and click BackupVolumesWithMountedFolder.
  8. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcserve\Unified Data Protection\Engine\AFBackupDll
  9. The Edit Multi String dialog appears.
  10. In the Value data field, add the object name that you copied.
  11. Click OK.
  12. The volume without drive letter is specified in registry.
  13. When you perform backup from Arcserve UDP Console, only the volumes specified in the registry are considered for backup.
