Log into Arcserve UDP Console Using Multi-Factor Authentication
Arcserve UDP supports Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) that provides an additional layer of security for all users. MFA is a login process in which the user is prompted to provide an additional form of identification. This method of authentication requires more than one factor for verifying user identity. In general, the MFA login process uses two-factor authentication that allows two factors for user identification.
Arcserve UDP supports two-factor authentication. It allows username and password as the first factor authentication. The second factor authentication uses one of the following:
- Time-based one-time passcode (TOTP): Unlike the traditional OTP that is sent to an email address or SMS, a TOTP is generated using an authenticator app. The TOTP is valid for a short duration and refreshes every 30 seconds.
- Email OTP: This feature authenticates with an OTP that is sent to the registered email address and the OTP is valid for 30 seconds. It is enabled only when you have configured the email address.
